How to Reset Your VPS Root Password

Reset root password on Ceyora VPS hosting via client portal or rescue mode. Regain server access when locked out of your virtual private server.

If you forget your VPS root password, Ceyora provides recovery options through the client portal without reinstalling your server.

Reset via client portal
  1. Log in to cportal.ceyora.lk
  2. Go to your VPS service
  3. Look for Reset Password or management console options
  4. Initiate password reset and wait for confirmation email
  5. Reconnect via SSH with the new password
If portal reset is unavailable

Open a support ticket requesting a password reset. Include your VPS IP, client portal email, and verification details. Our team may use rescue mode or console access to restore login.

After regaining access

Change the password immediately, set up SSH keys, and review auth logs (/var/log/secure) for unauthorised access attempts.
