How to Upload Your Website via FTP or File Manager

Upload your website to Ceyora shared hosting in Sri Lanka using cPanel File Manager or FTP. Publish HTML, PHP, and WordPress files to public_html.

Publishing your website on Ceyora shared hosting is straightforward. All files that should be visible on the internet must be placed inside the public_html directory of your hosting account.

Method 1 — cPanel File Manager (easiest)
  1. Log in to cPanel from the client portal or your welcome email
  2. Open File Manager
  3. Navigate to public_html (or the folder for your addon domain)
  4. Click Upload and select your website files
  5. If uploading a ZIP archive, extract it inside public_html
  6. Visit your domain in a browser to confirm the site loads
Method 2 — FTP (for developers)
  1. In cPanel, go to FTP Accounts and create an FTP user
  2. Use an FTP client such as FileZilla
  3. Connect with your domain (or server IP), FTP username, and password
  4. Port: 21 for FTP, or 22 for SFTP if enabled on your plan
  5. Upload files to public_html
Important tips
  • Your homepage file should be named index.html or index.php
  • File and folder permissions are usually 644 for files and 755 for folders
  • Large uploads may fail on slow connections — use FTP for big projects
