How to Add MX Records for Email on Your Domain

MX (Mail Exchange) records tell the internet which server handles email for your domain. Correct MX configuration is essential for business email hosting in Sri Lanka.

Email hosted on Ceyora shared hosting

If you use Ceyora hosting with email on the same server, MX records are usually configured automatically when your domain uses Ceyora nameservers. Verify in cPanel → Zone Editor that MX records point to your mail server hostname.

Add or edit MX records manually
  1. Log in to cPanel → Zone Editor
  2. Select your domain → Manage
  3. Add or edit MX records with priority and mail server hostname
  4. Remove conflicting old MX records pointing elsewhere
  5. Save and allow up to 24 hours for propagation
Using external email (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)

Replace Ceyora MX records with the MX values provided by Google or Microsoft. You may still host your website on Ceyora while email is hosted externally.
